On May 20, 2025, I, Matthew Narh Tetteh, author of The Modern Jewish State of Israel: The Jews and Israel, had the honor of meeting with the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga West Municipal Assembly, Honourable John Desmond Sowah Nai, to discuss the core themes of my book. The conversation focused on the history, culture, and contributions of Israel and the Jewish people, aiming to foster greater understanding and explore opportunities for cross-cultural collaboration.

During our meeting, I shared insights from my book about the Jewish people’s resilience and Israel’s remarkable journey as a modern state. We delved into Israel’s global impact, particularly its pioneering agricultural innovations, such as drip irrigation and precision farming, which have transformed arid landscapes into thriving farmlands. Honourable Nai expressed keen interest in how these advancements could inspire sustainable agricultural development in Ga West, potentially addressing local challenges like water management and crop productivity.

Honourable Nai’s engagement with the topics of Israel and the Jewish people opened the door to future initiatives that could bring innovative ideas to Ga West while promoting cross-cultural dialogue. I am excited about the potential for further conversations with the Assembly to explore how the lessons from my book can contribute to the municipality’s growth and development.
